Journal 3: Performance of The Crucible

The Crucible is a morality play because in 1692 there was witchcraft going on during the time. The morality of the evil side from the major character that I think is Mary Warren because she could be sweet but evil in some way from my way of seeing her. The morality of the good side from the major characters is John and Elizabeth Proctor because I see them that they both try to work things out as they are husband and wife. Reverend Parris he’s like a type of guy who thinks he’s so smart from my opinion.
When I saw the production the characters are mostly like those from the play especially Abigail Williams. She’s a very good actor. She acts almost everything the same from the play. When I was reading the play I could visualize her, what she’s doing like the same as when she performed on stage. For John Proctor I think he exaggerate some of his parts when on stage. Elizabeth Proctor I think she is very sweet in the play and the performance.
Overall I really enjoy the play which unexpected to be three hours long, but it’s worth it. I enjoy reading the play better because it’s like I’m reading a book instead of play. I see better when I read the play and in the play it’s like the narrator is reading what going to the next scene. If I didn’t read the scrip in the first place I probably don’t understand what the performance was all about. While I was watching the performance I had a lot of different reactions. Do you have it too?
